Christopher Sparks
March 2, 1959 - July 23, 2013
With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Christopher Anthony Sparks on Tuesday, July 23, 2013.
Chris was a loving father and son, a caring brother and a fun-loving friend who will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
He was born on March 2, 1959 in Jamaica, grew up in England and immigrated to Canada in 1975.
Chris enjoyed fatherhood and took great pride in his beautiful daughter Cyeira. He was very involved in her life, traveling overseas together, and taking her camping, fishing and skiing.
Whether he was playing with his young nephews and nieces or cracking silly jokes, he will always be remembered for his great sense of humour.
Chris was a proud firefighter and always spoke highly of his colleagues and the noble tradition of his chosen career.
Chris was an active churchgoer in the Seventh-Day Adventist (S.D.A.) Church, a willing and dynamic bible study teacher and served selflessly in various roles in his current church, Immanuel S.D.A. and his former, Malton S.D.A..
Chris loved cars and always kept his late model vehicles in mint condition.
He was a big fan of movies and collected thousands of titles.
Chris is survived by his daughter Cyeira; his parents, John and Merlyn Sparks; his sisters Claudia, Paulene and Elaine and his brothers; Louis, Bancroft and Terry. He will also be missed by all his loving family, friends and colleagues.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Brampton Civic Hospital for their attentive care during his brief stay. We also greatly appreciate the continued support of the Brampton Fire Department through this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Chris' 12 yr-old daughter Cyeira. We have set up a trust account for her. See below for details. In addition, there will be a donation box at the viewing and the funeral service.
