JOHN HAMILTON LOGAN
1928 -2014
It is with mixed emotions that we announce the passing of John Logan on August 31, 2014. Dad passed away peacefully, on his 86th birthday, with his family by his side, with dignity, just the way he would have wanted it. Dad had been ill for some time with Alzheimer's and quite simply, was ready to go. He passed away listening to laughter at the "real" John Logan stories, jokes and memories. He has always done the big things right and joins his loving wife Kathryn Ann Logan and son David Logan. After studying Engineering, John became a long time GM sales executive and entrepreneur as proud owner of John Logan Chev Olds in Brampton, Ontario. He was the past president of the Brampton Board of Trade and Brampton Rotary Club, Chair of the Peel Memorial hospital fundraising Committee as well as being involved in innumerable other Peel Region community and fundraising activities. He was the 1985 Brampton Board of Trade Business Person of the Year as well a Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award Winner. His impact was profound on all he knew and touched. Many will remember his vast array of jokes and good humour. Loving father to Peter (Alexandra Turner), Kathy Lowry (Mark) and pre deceased by David Logan (Carol). Survived by his brother Bruce Logan and pre deceased by his two sisters, Katherine Badke and Janet McCaffrey as well as sister in law Stephanie Garner (David Garner). Grandfather/Poppi to Julia, Angela, Curtis, Lindsay, Samantha, Tommy and Stephanie as well as Nathan and Stefanie Turner. Brother in law, uncle, employer and friend to many. A celebration of life will be held at the Brampton Funeral Home & Cemetery, 10061 Chingacousy Road (at Bovaird) on Friday, Sept. 5th at 1:30 PM with visitations on Thursday, Sept. 4th from 2-4 PM and 7 - 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the Alzheimer's Society of Peel. Colourful jackets and apparel for visitation or service will be completely appropriate. Family and friends may pay condolences online at www.bramptonmemorial.com
